Urgent Security Advisory: Fraudulent websites impersonating Bazaarvoice

We have recently been made aware of a fraudulent website operating under the domain name bazaarvoice-data.cfd. This malicious site is actively attempting to scam individuals by fraudulently using our official branding, corporate logo, and the names and photographs of our executive leadership team.

We want to be entirely clear: This website is a scam and is in no way affiliated with, authorized by, or connected to Bazaarvoice.

Our systems remain secure

Please rest assured that this is an external “brand impersonation” or phishing attempt. Our internal networks, official website, and user data remain completely secure. The bad actors have simply copied publicly available information from our website to build a deceptive copycat platform.

Red Flags: How to identify fraudulent activity (what Bazaarvoice will never do)

• Bazaarvoice’s executive team will never reach out directly to users. We respect your privacy and do not directly influence the content creation process. Tip: If it appears that someone from our leadership team, Joe Davis, Steve Warren, Ken Hashman, Colby Smith, Gayle Wiley, Nick Shiftan, Marissa Jones, Doug Straton, or Gracie Renbarger has reached out to you, please verify identity and legitimacy through a second source like a Bazaarvoice email or LinkedIn.
• We will never communicate with candidates or users via channels like Telegram, WhatsApp or Signal
• We will never ask users for money or banking information as a prerequisite for content creation. While we champion the impact of User Generated Content (UGC) on Search Engine Optimization (SEO), tactics that require a user to pay to participate violate our core mission of authenticity. (Please note: while similar concepts apply to App Store Optimization [ASO], Bazaarvoice products do not support ASO). We collect authentic UGC strictly through post-purchase interactions or managed sampling programs where users are asked to share unbiased feedback.
• We will never ask you to keep your relationship with Bazaarvoice a secret. 
• We will never charge fees to recover access to your account.
• We do not recruit individuals for employment or paid “product review tasks” that require a financial deposit. All legitimate Bazaarvoice career opportunities are posted on our official Job Board, and we never charge application or training fees.  

3 safety tips we recommend

1. Check the URL: Our primary official website is bazaarvoice.com. Always double-check the address bar to ensure you are on our legitimate domain.
   Hint: Legitimate Bazaarvoice subdomains will always place the identifier before our name, separated only by a period (e.g., portal.bazaarvoice.com). Watch out for lookalike domains that use hyphens or extra words tacked onto the end, like bazaarvoice-data or bazaarvoice-login.
2. Verify email addresses: Official communications from our team will only ever come from email addresses ending in @bazaarvoice.com. We will never contact you from generic domains (like Gmail or Yahoo) or lookalike domains.
3. Never share financial details on unverified portals: Bazaarvoice will never ask you for banking details, cryptocurrency payments, wire transfers, or sensitive personal credentials through an unverified, external login page or chat application.

What we are doing

Our security and legal teams are actively working with the domain registrar, hosting providers, and law enforcement agencies to have the fraudulent website taken down permanently. We are also reporting the malicious URLs to major web browsers to ensure users are blocked from accessing the dangerous site.

What you should do

If you believe you have interacted with this fraudulent website or have been targeted by these scammers:

• Please report any suspicious activity to security@bazaarvoice.com.
• Do not give the scammers any personal information, login credentials, or financial details.
• If you have already disclosed financial information, immediately contact your bank or credit card company to report the fraud and freeze your accounts and also report the matter to law enforcement:
