This privacy policy is intended to inform you about Bazaarvoice, Inc.’s (“Bazaarvoice”, “We”, “Us”, or “Our”) collection, use, and disclosure of information that we receive through the third party websites of our clients (the “Bazaarvoice Network”), through the business applications offered on Bazaarvoice.com (“BizApps”), through our corporate website, www.bazaarvoice.com, and for our related targeting and data management services (collectively the “Services”).
Bazaarvoice, Inc. has been awarded TRUSTe's Privacy Seal signifying that this privacy policy and practices have been reviewed by TRUSTe for compliance with TRUSTe’s Web Privacy and TRUSTed Cloud program requirements including transparency, accountability and choice regarding the collection and use of your personal information. TRUSTe's mission, as an independent third party, is to accelerate online trust among consumers and organizations globally through its leading privacy trustmark and innovative trust solutions.
TRUSTe’s certifications cover the collection and use of information Bazaarvoice receives through BizApps, its corporate website, www.bazaarvoice.com, and the Bazaarvoice Network. TRUSTe’s certifications do not cover information that may be collected from mobile devices.
Overview of Our Services
We collect information from visitors to websites within the Bazaarvoice Network (“Consumers”) and from Bazaarvoice clients utilizing the BizApps and the Bazaarvoice website (“Clients”). The Bazaarvoice Services help our Clients to engage with Consumers during the buying process, to gather and display product feedback from Consumers to drive purchase decisions, to analyze and act upon that Consumer feedback, and to serve relevant, targeted advertising to Consumers within the Bazaarvoice Network and throughout the web.
The Information We Collect Through the Bazaarvoice Network
As part of our Services to our Clients, we provide Consumers the ability to review, comment on or rate goods, products and services on websites within the Bazaarvoice Network (collectively, “User Generated Content”). In order to do this, Consumers are required to create an account with our Client. You may be asked to submit information, such as but not restricted to, your name, email address, mailing address or phone number, and other Consumer data (collectively, “Consumer Account Info”). The information within your account, including your review, comment or rating, may be collected by both Bazaarvoice and the website on which your information was submitted.
We use the Consumer Account Info to assist with the creation of an account, provide you the ability to review, comment on or rate products, or otherwise create content on a Bazaarvoice Network website. The Client on whose site you create your account may use your data in accordance with their terms, which may include publishing your Consumer Generated Content. Our use of the Consumer Account Info collected on behalf of our Clients is subject to contractual limitations between Bazaarvoice and the Client.

User Generated Content is information submitted by Consumers to publicly accessible areas of websites within the Bazaarvoice Network. You should be aware that any information you provide in these areas may be read, collected, and used by others who access them. We request that you do not include any information within these areas that may personally identify you, such as your name, email address or financial information. We use the User Generated Content information to help us with marketing research, for new product development, to personalize or improve our Services, to detect fraudulent activities and for analytical purposes.
Cookies and Other Technologies
We use cookies, web beacons and other technologies to collect information from Consumers on the Bazaarvoice Network. Web beacons are small, graphic images on web pages or web-based documents or in email messages. Our technologies may collect the IP address of your computer, the pages you visit within the Bazaarvoice Network, the date and time of your visit, or browser type and version (collectively “Analytics and Tracking Data”). We do this so that we may personalize your experience on the Bazaarvoice Network, determine the usefulness of the information our Services provide and to analyze general user traffic patterns.
Your reviews, comments or ratings, as well as the Analytics and Tracking Data may be combined with additional analytics data we receive from third parties. This combination of data, referred to as Consumer Data, is used to display targeted advertisements and content within the Bazaarvoice Network and throughout the web, as well as to create aggregate analytics about Consumer behavior. These third parties are instructed to not provide us with information that personally identifies an individual. Bazaarvoice does not combine your name, phone number, email or mail address, or other similar personal information with Consumer Data for the display of targeted advertisements or content.

Opting Out
We make available a Bazaarvoice "opt-out" cookie that will prevent us from collecting Consumer Data on that browser as well as prevent us from displaying targeted advertisements and website content. Please click the button below to opt-out.
If you receive marketing communications from one of our Clients and would no longer like to be contacted by them, please contact that Client directly.
Correcting, Updating or Deleting Your Information
If you would like to access, correct, amend, or delete inaccurate Consumer Account Info or User Generated Content submitted through a Client, please contact that Client directly. If our Client requests us to update or remove your information from our systems, we will respond to their request within thirty (30) days.
The Information We Collect Through BizApps and the Website
When visiting the Bazaarvoice website or using the BizApps, you have the ability to provide us with certain information. For example, we may collect your name, email address, or phone number if you contact us or request information.
We will use the information we collect on the Bazaarvoice website or BizApps to respond to your inquiries, provide you with the requested service or information, send you marketing communications, or improve our website and Services.
If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for your friend’s email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. We do not store this information for future purposes.

We use cookies and other technologies to collect information on our website and through the BizApps. The Bazaarvoice website uses the cookies and web beacons of third party providers to assist us with analyzing site traffic, help us determine the effectiveness of content on our site and to manage our advertising on other websites. To assist us with our marketing efforts, the personal information of our Clients, such as email address, may be combined with the data collected by cookies or web beacons.

Social media features are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our website. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing them.
Opting Out
Our advertising partner may use cookies or web beacons to collect information about your visit to the Bazaarvoice website, as well as other websites, to display advertisements that may be of interest to you. From time to time, we may send marketing communications to our Clients. Out of respect for your privacy, you may choose to stop receiving our newsletter or marketing emails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in these emails.
Correcting, Updating or Deleting Your Information
If your personal information changes, or if you no longer desire our Services, you may correct, update, or delete it by making the change within your account settings or by contacting us via one of the methods listed in this policy. We will respond to your request to access within thirty (30) days.

With your consent we may post your testimonial or review along with your name. If you wish to update or delete your testimonial or review, you can contact us via one of the methods listed in this Policy.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will also revise the "last updated" date at the beginning of the policy. If we make any material changes we will notify you by email (sent to the e-mail address specified in your account) or by means of a notice on this website prior to the change becoming effective.

Children
We do not knowingly collect information from children less than 13 years of age.
Disclosure of Information
We will share your personal information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy policy. We do not sell your name, phone number, email or mail address to third parties.
Consumer information may be made available to our Clients in certain circumstances. For example; if a Consumer submits a question to the website of a Bazaarvoice Network member, the question and the Consumer’s email address may be shared with the Bazaarvoice Network members, product manufacturer, or retailer to help provide you an answer to your question.
We disclose Consumer Data, and information derived from Consumer Data, to our Clients in order for them to display advertisements and personalized user generated content targeted to Consumers.
We may share Consumer and Customer data with third-party service providers (e.g., email service providers, data storage and processing facilities) in order for those service providers to perform business functions for us or on our behalf. These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us.
We may also disclose the information we receive; if required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process; when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
In addition, information in our possession or control, including aggregate Consumer Data, may be disclosed in connection with any merger, acquisition, debt financing, sale of company assets, or other business transaction in which data could be transferred to third parties as one of our business assets.
Data Retention
We retain the Consumer Account Info, User Generated Content, and Client information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our Services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal and contractual obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Consumer Data is not stored in our cookies, and is retained on our servers in its original form for up to six months. Consumer level data may be retained for up to eighteen months before it is aggregated or deleted.
Data Security
We use security measures, including Secure Socket Layer encryption (SSL), that are reasonably designed to protect the information we collect from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Please be aware, however, that no data security measures can be guaranteed to be completely effective. Consequently, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information.
Other Information
Our website includes links to other websites whose privacy practices may differ from those of Bazaarvoice. If you submit personal information to any of those sites, your information is governed by their privacy statements. We encourage you to carefully read the privacy statement of any website you visit.
