Why do you love working at Bazaarvoice?
I think the biggest thing for me is the people and the team that I work with. I can honestly say that there hasn't been a day that I've been here that I haven't learned something new. Which I think is absolutely amazing, especially in the field that I'm working in where technology's evolving every single day.
What do you think differentiates Bazaarvoice from other companies?
Scale. Obviously Bazaarvoice is huge in terms of the traffic that we get. It was actually a shock to me when I found out that it was the third most trafficked site on the Internet. Which is amazing, because we're a white-label company, but we play such a big role!
At Bazaarvoice, they put a really big emphasis on making sure that you work on a project that you like as well, or that it's something that you want to contribute to. They really take into account your interests, and that's really important because it helps you develop the skill set or tools that are specific to what you want to do and not just the project that needs to be done.
What’s your proudest technical accomplishment to date?
I would definitely say my internship project from last summer, working here. I was basically the only one that was working on it. It's a product-recommendation tool. It was really cool because I went in knowing what I wanted to do but I didn't know how to do it. It’s a new technology, and not really well-documented. A lot of the project was research, but it was really interesting to learn about and it worked at the end. That’s always a plus!
What’s your career experience?
I interned at Jawbone in San Francisco, and it was really good. It was my first technical internship for software engineering, and it really got me in the door.
