Around two years ago, we purchased the beautiful 27" Wuhan Chau gong pictured below from Artdrum.com to use for celebrating company achievements. We were much smaller then, so a single gong was sufficient to call everyone from their desks and conference rooms to hear about a new customer signing up or launching with one of our solutions, the release of an exciting new product feature, a new employee joining the team, or an important milestone in Bazaarvoice's growth. The gong quickly became a central component of our company culture, as the entire Bazaarvoice team would gather around the gong to hear the latest news.
When we moved into our current office, we quickly discovered that one gong simply wasn't enough. One wing of the office (the one I work in!) couldn't hear the gong, so we often missed out on company announcements or arrived just in time to hear applause, leading to many "What did we just gong about?" questions. So we decided to invest in a second gong! Again with Greg's help, we purchased the earth-shattering 36" gong pictured below. You can't read the text but the framed print on the wall contains our very official "Rules of the Gong". While I'd love to share these, they are a company secret.
