Bazaarvoice, the market and technology leader in hosted social commerce applications that drive sales, today announced that well-known investor and financial executive Tom Meredith has joined the Bazaarvoice Board of Directors. Meredith is co-founder and general partner of Meritage Capital, an investment management firm specializing in multi-manager hedge funds. With decades of hands-on experience managing financial operations at large technology companies, Meredith has previously served in executive roles at Motorola, Dell, and Sun Microsystems and brings a tremendous wealth of insight and knowledge about financial strategy for high-growth markets to his board role.

Meredith recently served as acting executive vice president and CFO of Motorola, where he was responsible for company-wide treasury, tax, audit, financial and managerial reporting, forecasting and planning, internal accounting controls, investor relations, real estate, and the Motorola Credit Corp. He currently serves as a director at Motorola and is a member of the finance committee and the audit committee of the board.
Previously, Meredith served in several executive roles at Dell, including the managing director of Dell Ventures, senior vice president of business development and strategy at Dell and, from 1992-2000, as senior vice president and CFO. Prior to joining Dell, Meredith served as vice president and treasurer at Sun Microsystems.

In addition to his current board position at Motorola, Meredith has served on numerous public and private company boards. He currently serves on the board of directors of Brightstar Corp., a global provider of distribution and supply chain services and solutions for the wireless industry; the advisory board of Compal Electronics, a Taiwanese original design manufacturer; and is also CEO of MFI Capital, the Meredith family’s private investment arm. Meredith is also an adjunct professor at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas and serves on the advisory boards of both the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and the LBJ School at the University of Texas.
