Austin, TX – January 12, 2009 – Bazaarvoice, the market and technology leader in hosted social commerce applications that drive sales, today announced that Ken Saunders has joined the company as CFO. Saunders has over 25 years experience as a senior financial executive at companies including Open Solutions, Peregrine Systems, Fair Isaac Corporation, and Arthur Andersen. In his new role at Bazaarvoice, Saunders will guide all aspects of the company’s financial operations, as well as lead the team responsible for day-to-day finance, IT, and human operations.

“Bazaarvoice is not only the most innovative social commerce company in the industry, it’s the fastest growing, serving hundreds of major brands worldwide and adding more at a very rapid clip,” said Saunders. “As CFO, I look forward to working with Bazaarvoice’s executive team to drive the company’s growth now and into the future, as they continue to transform the way people interact and shop online.”

Before joining Bazaarvoice, Saunders served as CFO of enterprise software company Open Solutions. Prior to that, he served as CFO of Peregrine Systems, helping turn the company around after a Chapter 11 filing and negotiating its sale to HP in December 2005. Saunders was also CFO of analytical application software company HNC Software, serving the company through its acquisition by Fair Isaac Corp. in 2002. He then served as CFO of Fair Isaac, overseeing global finance and accounting, tax, investor relations and legal operations.

“Ken has a wealth of world-class financial experience at both private and public companies, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to the executive team as Bazaarvoice continues to cement its market leadership in the social commerce space,” said Brett Hurt, founder and CEO of Bazaarvoice. “As more and more retailers worldwide embrace the customer voice as a key brand and marketing tool, Bazaarvoice is poised for rapid growth – and Ken is the perfect person to lead our company’s financial strategy.”

Saunders has broad experience managing and driving the financial growth of both private and public companies. From the time he joined HNC, for example, the company generated market value growth from approximately $100 million to over $2 billion. During his tenure as CFO of Fair Isaac, he managed revenue growth from $350 million to $700 million. As CFO of Peregrine, Saunders rebuilt the company’s finance and support infrastructure after bankruptcy, and managed global finance and accounting, tax, internal audit, investor relations, sales operations, IT, and facilities, before helping engineer a $400 million sale to HP. Since 1991, he has directly worked on over 50 mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, including related SEC and antitrust filings and approvals in both the US, London, and Asian markets.

Saunders’ appointment caps off a year of explosive growth for Bazaarvoice. The company doubled its worldwide client base in 2008 and has now served nearly 20 billion pieces of product-related user-generated content in 20 languages. Bazaarvoice is the market leader in social commerce worldwide, serving more than 300 top brands worldwide.
