Bazaarvoice Launches in Japan to Expand Asia Pacific Business

TOKYO, Oct. 7, 2013 — Bazaarvoice, Inc. (Nasdaq: BV), the network connecting brands and retailers to the authentic voices of consumers wherever they shop, today announced the launch of its Japan operations to build further momentum behind its Asia Pacific business and better serve its clients in Japan.  Leading the Japan office as country manager is Brent Mori, a seasoned sales and business development executive with leadership experience at Sony, Digital River, Opera, and Openwave in Japan.

Bazaarvoice Japan will service local and multinational Japan-based clients as well as reseller relationships, including Experian Japan.  

The company will offer Bazaarvoice Conversations in Japanese, which allows businesses to collect and analyze ratings and reviews, questions and answers and stories from customers.

Japanese companies are starting to use the “customer voice” as a critical data point to increase sales and promote brand loyalty. Customer reviews are considered useful tools to improve marketing investments and have become one of the most influential sources to guide purchase decisions, particularly in the United States where retailers and brands increasingly use the content from customer reviews to improve the success of other marketing programs.
