Bazaarvoice Expands its Media Solutions Management Team
AUSTIN, Texas, May 29, 2013 — Bazaarvoice, Inc. (Nasdaq: BV), the network connecting brands and retailers to the authentic voices of consumers wherever they shop, today announced the addition of two executives to build further momentum behind the company’s Media solutions business. Joining the company are Scott Bender, senior vice president of Global Media Sales, and Josh Wetzel, vice president of Media Network & Business Development.
Bazaarvoice Media brings highly relevant brand messages to an estimated 100 million active consumers across shopping publishers, mobile and tablet commerce applications, and online retailers. Bazaarvoice Media’s advertising management network allows advertisers to target customers by behavior, product, location and demographic, and enables retailers and publishers to easily launch and manage on-site advertising campaigns that help brands increase reach and awareness in the digital shopping aisle.
An advertising and media industry veteran, Scott Bender will lead global sales and business development for Bazaarvoice Media solutions, with responsibility for forming strategic relationships with the brand advertisers and top agencies that form the demand side of the Bazaarvoice Media business. Bender previously served as senior vice president of Sales & Business Development at IGN and has also held senior sales roles at FOX Interactive Media and Turner Broadcasting.
On the supply side of the Bazaarvoice Media business, Josh Wetzel is now responsible for sales and business development with retailers, shopping publishers and mobile commerce partners as well as leading third-party partnerships that help support and improve the Media platform. Wetzel has a successful history leading multi-disciplinary teams in the online commerce and display advertising industries, previously holding senior positions with PubMatic, eBay, Inc. and CNET Networks.
The addition of Bender and Wetzel rounds out the Bazaarvoice Media management team, which includes recognized advertising and media leaders including Longboard Media co-founders Jim Barkow and Scott Engler, and Ari Paparo, formerly the senior vice president of Product Management for AppNexus and a six-year veteran of Google and DoubleClick.
