Bazaarvoice Appoints Executive Vice President and General Manager EMEA to Support Growing Consumer-Generated Content Business

AUSTIN, Texas, February 8, 2017 — Bazaarvoice, Inc. (Nasdaq: BV) today announced Joe Rohrlich's appointment as executive vice president and general manager of EMEA, a testament to the growing opportunities the business sees in the European marketplace.

Reporting to Gene Austin, chief executive officer, president and director at Bazaarvoice, Rohrlich will be responsible for growing and building the region while continuing to solidify Bazaarvoice’s leadership position in the consumer-generated content (CGC) space.

“Joe is a proven leader and Bazaarvoice veteran who has deep understanding of our clients, our strategy and our operating model,” said Austin. “Under his leadership, our client success team has done a tremendous job in helping drive strong improvement to client satisfaction, while simultaneously improving client retention and renewals. Joe’s appointment goes hand-in-hand with the importance and growth potential of the EMEA market for Bazaarvoice. I am confident that his leadership will result in stronger global collaboration and positive outcomes for the European business.”

Rohrlich joined Bazaarvoice in 2010, with his most recent role being senior vice president of the company’s Client Success department. In this new role, Rohrlich will oversee sales, marketing, people operations and client success teams in EMEA.

The appointment of Rohrlich reflects the current state of the CGC industry, as well as the company’s growth. With more than 5,000 brand and retail websites, and a network spanning more than 750 million shopper devices each month, Bazaarvoice is positioned to take CGC to the next level.

The company is scheduled to launch the personalized targeted advertising solution, Bazaarvoice Advertising in Europe later this year, giving brands and retailers the ability to reach and influence in-market shoppers using targeted audience data. This solution is already available in the U.S. market, with the ability to reach three out of four in-market shoppers.

In addition, the business sees a growth in the market adoption of CGC: 51 percent of brands and 91 percent of retailers plan to increase usage of CGC across the customer journey.

“At Bazaarvoice we live and breathe a client-obsessed culture, where we truly put our clients at the heart of our business. I am very much looking forward to leading and empowering the European team to help our clients thrive in the constant challenges and opportunities of the social commerce space,” said Rohrlich. “We cannot afford to miss the great opportunity that the European market represents for us. This is the time for Bazaarvoice to step up and raise the bar for the CGC industry.”
